In Iowa City we went to the Phillip Adler journalism building. The building was built in 2005. The favorite place to relax, according to student response was in the student commons. We did a scavenger hunt and we had to take pictures of our answers. We then met Vanessa Shelton, the director of the Iowa High School Press Association , and Quill and Scroll .Then we met Julie Koehn , a student at the university. She is the editor of the year book and newspaper. “ I like it here, “Koehn said. Julie majors in psychology and journalism.

Then we met Erika Binegar, she is 21 years old. She grew up in Davenport and she went to Central High school. She is the Metro Editor of the newspaper and she assigns all the news articles. When she was a junior she started as an Opinion Editor. She worked at the Daily Iowan. She was 19 years old when she decided to do journalism. Her favorite story that she wrote about was the black angel.” I love it, “Binegar said.

Then we met Jason Brummond he is 22 years old. He started as a sports reporter. “I like my job, “said Brummond. Brummond went to City High.

He went to college for 5 years. Brummond majored in journalism and business management. One of his favorite stories he wrote was a story on a famous football coach named Hayden fry.

After everyone got done talking we went out to eat. Then Vanessa announced the winners of the scavenger hunt and it was my group. Our counselor Jason helped us win.
