Cindy Husar sells purses and jewelry at the farmer’s market. She enjoys coming to the farmers market because it is an opportunity to meet people. Cindy, who lives in Muscatine, chooses to attend the farmer’s markets in Davenport because it is a bigger city. This is Cindy’s first year coming to the farmer’s market. Cindy likes coming to the farmers market because, “it is nice to be outdoors.” While Husar agrees that she gets a lot of business, she said that she gets more business  on Saturdays, rather than Wednesdays.

Today Mr. Brent early came, and he talked about the Quad Cities water purification plants. Mr. Early is the Water Quality Supervisor at the Iowa American Water Company. He has been working at this job since February. He said that in1969 the river caught fire because people were just dumping their trash into the river. Mr. Early also said that if water sits in a pipe too long the water will have minerals in it, such as lead. It is also safe to swim in the river, but not to consume it.
