Talents at Variety Show

In an impressive display of talent, students performed before a full house Jan. 27 at Kahler Auditorium entertaining the audience with comedy, music, and dance.
An outstanding feature of the variety show was the command the Masters of Ceremony had over their audience. They elicited roars of laughter from the spectators, while acting out a parody of wearing backpacks in school. In that skit, students could be heard screaming in distress as a fellow student walked into class oblivious to the fact that backpacks are no longer allowed in school. They flinched in fear every moment he took out an object which could possibly be a weapon.

Under the second year of direction by Choral Director Michael Reese, the school's Central Singers Incorporated has once again become successful halfway through the season. At their first competition, CSI placed sixth out of a selection of 21 other show choirs in Milton, Wisconsin and then fought to place third among 16 groups in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Along with competing, CSI also helped host the Great River competition Feb. 18 in Davenport with 22 other show choirs contending.
