LOCKED IN: No-drop policy takes place this year
Steve Ford
The school district made several policy changes over the summer concerning the classes a student takes and the student’s grade level.
In the past, students have been able to drop any class through midterm. Now if a student drops a class after it begins, he or she will receive an ‘F’ for the class. After passing a sequential class, no students may return to an earlier class in the sequence to raise that grade.
Newspaper will find funding from optional fee, general fund
Eric Anderson
After two months of battling for newspaper funding, advisers and staffs in the district are still unsure of the future of their publications.
What used to be a service fee turned into an optional fee. Students had the option of paying $4 for a year's worth of student newspapers at registration. This addition of an optional fee comes two months after school funding for the newspaper was completely eliminated. "The cut was a huge blow to our publication. I knew we had to leap into action to get funding back," Editor in Chief Erin McCluskey said.

The new head band director is Kendall Carrier. Carrier has been teaching for 18 years and is from Brandenton Florida, where he had a teaching job at the Electra Lee School for the arts. He has judged at the national level for marching bands and is a jazz bass and low brass specialist.
