Fire causes school evacuation

“I smelled something funny, almost like burning army men, and when I looked up I saw smoke coming out of the vent. That’s when Hatfield said to get out. I left my stuff and walked quickly out of the door. I was still wearing my entire welding outfit,” junior Robinson Scheer said.
Renovations for Kemper and gym begin in
November

Construction will start in November of the high school’s new auxiliary gym.
The new auxiliary gym will contain three basketball and volleyball courts, with the volleyball courts inside of the basketball courts. Around the playing area will be an indoor track not suitable for indoor meets. The gym will be solely used for practices; volleyball and basketball games will still be held in George E. Marshall Gymnasium.
